Which do you prefer; metallic grey or matte black?:
I think Matte black looks awesome!
i like matte black
Personally I prefer the grey….looks great what sort of price range
Not in genral a fan of painted finishes/effects, seems to be utilised in an attempt to make products appear that they are made of higher quality materials than they actually are, which I feel cheapens the appearance.
Many entry level audio brands (although many high end too) use the metalic paint finish, so not a very original choice imho. I generally favour a stealth scheme (whith maybe a contrasting colour accent at a push). A true matte effect has been utilised (and been suprisingly durable) with the adoption of a rubberised finish on a number of lesser brand headphones (so obs. not production costly) in my possesion which do give a good feel/finish, and dont give the plastic(y) looking attempt at a matte finish that the black option offers. A flat matte dark grey material would set them apart I feel, the colour tone is important though, too light (battleship) and and would again be at risk of looking cheap, a flat charcoal would be taken seriously as a premium acoustic focused product rather than that of one that lends towards a ‘fashion’ focused item.
Rather than the ‘pump’ brand logo on earcup, a product icon like lightning bolt logo (if a derivative of original Zeus name is used) with ‘pump’ logo smaller/subtler, perhaps ‘by PUMP’. The derivative of the Zeus name (e.g Delta triangle) used minimised top right position of logo like circle to denote degree or copyright logo?
My input may be too far down the development process for consideration and probably wasted effort, so of the two options offered the black would be preferenced.
They both look good I would use them both
If I’m wearing them, I won’t see them, so it hardly matters…
I’m liking the difference of the grey
I prefer the grey but would love to keep the “Pump” logo
pump orange like the orange cable on the corded head sets.
Black matte is my choice.
Matt Black for me
Life is colourful but most things always have to be black, or grey (look at car colours for instance) :(
Since the available choice is set, I’d go for grey. Have some courage and try something fancy.
As someone else stated, matte black is over done and I haven’t seen to many products with that metallic grey color scheme, so it’s grey for me.
Defo from me its a vote from me Metallic GREY✊☯️✊
Don’t mind either leaning towards Grey
But why not go bold, whatever happened to the Orange from the original V3???
Not heard any info on Talex had the original back in the day!
Batman Matt Black is the only choice!
Well for a change I’d go for the metallic grey. Matt black is so common these days it’s nice to see an alternative colour and a metallic grey would look great.
Graphite grey/ matte gunsmoke grey gives distinction, a nod to class to set them apart.
Gun metal grey or matt black looks good. Imho, the branding can be a bit more subtle or “iconised” instead of the brand name “pump” which is also a bit big. Feels like advertising. Of course, sharing my personal taste and feelings about it. Many would beg to differ for sure and they are most entitled to. E.g. have a look at Beats, it’s more a logo initial or Sennheiser, Nura, Bang & Olufsen etc etc
Definitely matt black
Matte Black, absolutely. Conservative, stylish and premium.
Definitely black or red
Black is pretty common. The grey sets these apart. Go for the grey.
Matt black for me
Matt black for me, looks great.
I like both…leaning towards the grey
Matte Black Adam ….then red …or …red and black !
Definitely matt black…⚫
Matte Black looks great.
Definitely Matt Black as all other “Professional” equipment.
I much prefer the Matte Black ones over the metallic grey.
I’d go matt black I reckon
Matt black, with Grey logo
Being an MC for race & charity events and an ex DJ with ageing hair, the Matt Black would compliment my grey locks
Matte Black with a glossy black Pump Audio logo
Matte black. But cos it’s matte. No shiny !!!
Metallic Grey. There are too many black-colored headphones on the market and nothing really has a chance to stick out. Grey would offer the opportunity to show it’s a new model and that Pump isn’t afraid to go against the grain when it comes to colorways.
Matt Black definitely, as a Metallic Grey will always look slightly dirty.
I could be slightly biased, however, as EVERY piece of clothing I own & wear is BLACK.
High gloss grey branding / accents (with the Matt black base).
Yes – I like the matt black..
Any update on the new Talex ?
Thanks for your feedback. Talex 3 is in the very final stages with the units having been manufactured and all packaging and manuals completed – we are just testing the final firmware as we found a few things we were not happy with ( we received what is hopefully the final firmware yesterday) all being well we will move to the distribution stage…apologies for the delay – but we have to make sure that everything is perfect and road ready.
I do prefer the black to the grey … Matt black with the grey accent / branding would be good.
Matte black for me. Certainly has that quality look..
I prefer the matt Adam.
Matte black 10000000%
Matte Black is better … metallic looks kinda cheap..
I think I prefer the distinction of the graphite grey.
Matte black. Always matte black.
